Our area of Virginia is known for its spectacular horse shows and equestrian traditions. This fall, there are dozens of shows taking place at local farms and equestrian venues throughout Virginia. Whether you are a current or future resident, you don’t want to forget about these exciting events.

Date: Wednesday, September 21st – Sunday, September 25th

Location: Morven Park Equestrian Center in Leesburg, VA

2. Josephine Mysliwski Hunter Derby

Date: Saturday, September 24th

Location: Whitestone Farm in Fredericksburg, VA

The Josephine Mysliwski Hunter Derby is an event in Whitestone Farm’s 2016 Hunter Show Series, which is a member of the Battlefield Horse Show Association.

Date: Saturday, October 1st

Location: Commonwealth Park in Culpeper, VA

4. H.O.R.S.E Benefit Show

Date: Saturday, October 1st

Location: Autumn Olive Farm in Goochland, VA

The annual “HOrsey Rett Syndrome Event” is a benefit show to raise money for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. It is the final hunter show in October at Autumn Olive Farm.

Date: Saturday, October 8th

Location: Whitestone Farm in Fredericksburg, VA

Along with the Josephine Mysliwski Hunter Derby, the Forrest Linton Classic is another event in Whitestone Farm’s 2016 Hunter Show Series.

6. Baroque Equestrian Games Championship

Date: Friday, October 21st – Sunday, October 23rd

Location: Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA

The 2016 Classical Championship, Expo, and Grand Gala — part of the Baroque Equestrian Games — will take place at the Virginia Horse Center’s East Complex. The weekend will include a breed showcase, an evening gala, and classical stallion pageant.

Date: Saturday, November 5th
